She has arrived in San Jose with an impressive tally of 28-14 and three ITF titles – all on hard courts. The young American had to start as a qualifier here, where she beat the number eight seed Fernanda Gomez and the top seed Jil Teichmann in three sets.

Elizabeth is the daughter of eight-time Grand Slam finalist Hana Mandlíková. By the looks of it, greatness runs in her blood, and if her early form is any indication, it may be a matter of time before the current World No. 240 starts making waves.

Riske-Amritraj, Rich in Experience
Alison Riske-Amritraj, 11 years senior to Mandlik, has had a decent year as she looks to keep it going in the United States.
She is 18-14 and has two singles runner-up feats to her name – Adelaide International and Nottingham Open. However, she hasn’t been that consistent of late as she fell in the early rounds in Eastbourne and Birmingham – to the likes of Katie Boulter and Magda Linette – and round three in Wimbledon to Marie Bouzkova.
That said, many of Riske-Amritraj’s losses in 2022 have come from well-established players like Iga Swiatek, Bianca Andreescu, Simona Halep, and Madison Keys.
As the current World No. 33, Alison is certainly well-experienced and has an exceptional pedigree compared to Mandlik.
