Cameron Norrie v Brandon Nakashima Head to Head

There have been three meetings between these two players and Norrie leads 2-1.

In their first match at the 2020 Delray Beach Open, it was Nakashima who had surprised his British opponent but Norrie has come back well at the 2021 Los Cabos Open and 2022 Eastbourne International to take the lead.

Norrie Coming off Los Cabos Final

Norrie’s sky-rocketing confidence can be seen from the fact he has openly said he will be looking to target stronger results at Grand Slams now. The world number 11 can lay a realistic claim to going deep into the majors after his performance at Wimbledon earlier this.

The Brit had made it as far as the semifinal there, also managing to take a set off Novak Djokovic in that match before falling to the 21-time Grand Slam winner.

And he followed it up with a strong showing at the Los Cabos Open where the change in surfaces did not bother Norrie so much.

He defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime in the semifinal there to set up a meeting with Daniil Medvedev in the title-decider. And while Norrie fell to Medvedev, he will enter this tournament knowing he has another chance of delivering some good results in hard court competitions.

Like he had done at Delray Beach Open earlier this year where Norrie won the title. Or when he made it to the final at Acapulco.

Nakashima Solid on Hard Court Recently

After having made it as far as the quarterfinal stage on the hard court surface of Adelaide in the very first competition he had played this season, Nakashima’s form looked to have tapered off on it.

In the seven competitions he featured in on hard courts after that – including one indoors and another on the Challenger circuit – Nakashima failed to win more than a round. At three of them he was bundled out in the first round.

Things looked to have changed for Nakashima in more recent times with the American making it to the quarterfinals at both the tournaments he’s played as a part of the US Open Series this year.

At Atlanta, he overcame Jordan Thompson and John Millman before going down to Frances Tiafoe, while in Washington there were wins over Max Purcell and Kaichi Uchida that took him over the hurdle.

Can he put up a brave face against Norrie?

Norrie v Nakashima Prediction and Tip

While Nakashima has been tipped to do wonders in the future, this one still belongs to Norrie who should make it through here in straight sets.

Tip: Norrie to win in straight sets: 6/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
