Pedro Martinez v Christopher Eubanks Head to Head
The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the Spaniard, who is 25, and his American opponent, one year his senior.

Earlier this year Martinez won his first senior ATP title in Chile, although that was on his favourite surface of clay.
He does not have a great history in Grand Slams generally, and his record in New York is even more modest – his second round appearance last year is the best he has managed.
And there has been little in his recent results to suggest that he is capable of a deep run this year,
Since making the quarter-finals on the clay of Kitzbuhel, he has lost all three matches he has played on American hard courts.
He lost in the first round in Montreal, failed to qualify in Cincinnati and suffered another first round defeat in Winston Salem, beaten in straight sets by another American Steve Johnson.

Eubanks Battles Through Qualifying
Unlike some of his compatriots who were given wildcards, Eubanks had to earn his place in the main draw of his home Grand Slam the hard way by coming through qualifying.
And that was not without its struggles. After a comfortable win over the Argentine Santiago Fa Rodriguez Taverna, he survived a tough match against Gregoire Barrere of France, which went to three sets, all of which were decided by tie-breaks.
And then he came from behind to defeat Raul Brancaccio of Italy, again in three sets.
This will be the fourth time since 2017 that he has made the first round in New York, but he has never been further.
Martinez v Eubanks Prediction and Tip
Although Martinez is the higher ranked player, such has been his recent form on hard courts that Eubanks, battle-hardened after coming through the qualifying competition, starts as favourite to do something he has never done before.
