Danielle Collins v Aryna Sabalenka Head to Head

Reigning Australian Open finalist Danielle Collins looks well on track to emulate a similar run in the US Open.
In the opener, she knocked out the two-time champion Naomi Osaka with 7-6(5), 6-3 and followed it with straight-set wins over Cristina Bucsa (6-2, 7-5) and Alize Cornet (6-4, 7-6(9)).
The World No. 19 arrived in New York on the back of a pretty bleak, lacklustre season. Her tally was 12-8, and her last professional tournament was the Ladies Open Lausanne (first-round loss to Simona Waltert).
In fact, this is only the third time this season that Collins has won this many matches in a tournament – with the Aus Open and Miami Open being the other two instances.
The lack of momentum may be a problem for her, but she can compensate for it with her aggressive playing style and experience.

Sabalenka Sails into Round Four
After a demanding three-setter with Kaia Kanepi in round two – ending in a 2-6, 7-6(8), 6-4 win – number six seed, Aryna Sabalenka found herself in a much easier match against Clara Burel.
That one was a quick affair as the 24-year-old ended the match with 6-0, 6-2.
After starting the year on a shaky note, Sabalenka has done relatively well to pick herself up by reaching the final in Stuttgart Open and Rosmalen Championships. Most recently, she also competed in the semifinal of the Cincinnati Open – losing to Caroline Garcia in three sets.
Her ongoing run at the Flushing Meadows puts her at 27-17 for the season – which is statistically her worst spell in the last five years since she became a part of the top 15.
Nonetheless, the heavy-hitting, current World No. 6 has a good chance of turning it around in the coming weeks – starting with a dismissal of Collins on Monday.
That will not be easy, but lucky for her, the American is also in a similar boat.
