Oscar Otte v Gregoire Barrere Head to Head

The pair have never played each other before.

This will be the first meeting between the 29 year old German, and the Frenchman who is a year younger.

Otte Looking to Get Back to Winning Ways

Otte has not hit the same heights in 2022 as he did last year when he won three titles on the Challenger circuit, although that may be explained in large part that he is now focusing his efforts on the main tour.

He also has the added burden of being the highest ranked German player in the continued absence of the injured Alexander Zverev.

However, despite all that, he reached his first ATP tour semi-final in Munich, and then his second in Stuttgart, and broke into the top 40 for the first time.

But, he skipped almost the entire American hard court season, returning just for the US Open, where he promptly lost to Hubert Hurkasz in three sets.

He then lost all three of his matches playing for Germany in the Davis Cup, so he will be keen to get back to winning ways again.

Barrere Triumphs in All French Qualifier

Barrere was ranked as high as 80 in the world three years ago, but several seasons of indifferent form has seen him decline since then.

He has achieved some success on the Challenger tour, though, winning 9 titles and appearing in a further seven finals, three of them this year, although, unfortunately for him, he has appeared on the losing side each time.

The 28 year old had not featured on the main tour since reaching the second round of the French Open back in May.

But he has earned his place in Moselle with an impressive victory over Marton Fucsovics of Hungary, the world number 91, winning the first set on a tie-break, and claiming the second for the loss of just one game.

Otte v Barrere Prediction and Tip

Whilst Barrere has done well to get to this stage and will benefit from the support of the local crowd, Otte will want to get back to winning ways as a matter of priority, and may consider this a golden opportunity.
