Gabriela Lee v Matilde Paoletti Head to Head
It is 1-0 to Paoletti; they last met in the WTA Palermo qualifiers a couple of months ago, where she won in straight sets.

19-year-old Italian Matilde Paoletti is the current World No. 366 and a potential dark horse in this year’s WTA Emilia-Romagna Open.
She is 12-7 on the singles circuit and is coming in with a fair bit of momentum on the clay courts. She last played in Bari Challenger, where she made it as far as the semis. A few weeks before that, Matilde won the ITF Verbier.
Paoletti has spent the entirety of the season on the ITF and Challenger circuits, with a brief cameo in the WTA Palermo Open. While she cleared the qualifiers, she fell to Oceane Dodin in round one.
Nonetheless, these results helped her move exponentially in the rankings – after starting outside the top 1000 in March.

Lee Hoping to Avoid Another Upset
Gabriela Lee, age 27, began as a qualifier in Parma but lost to Reka Luca Jani in three sets. She also struggled a bit against Nuria Brancaccio in the opening match over the weekend but managed to surpass that hurdle in three sets.
The Romanian is the current World No. 150. Her form has been uneventful in the last couple of tournaments, having lost to Rebeka Masarova in the Bucharest Challenger opener and to Lesley Kerkhove in the US Open qualifiers.
She did reach the mid-rounds in the Poland Open as a qualifier, losing ultimately to Iga Swiatek.
Most of Lee’s year has gone by in these early losses, barring the ITF Bonita Springs, where she won the title and ITF Palm Harbour where she was a quarterfinalist.
Lee v Paoletti Prediction and Tip
Quite frankly, this match can go either way. Paoletti has the home advantage while Lee is experienced, but struggling with form. Expect a close encounter.
