Norrie Returns from Laver Cup Stint

Norrie has had a season to remember and it could well go down as the year which turned things around for the world number eight. In the last three weeks or so, however, there has been a bit of wavering of Norrie’s form and he would like to rectify that quickly.

The Brit fell to Andrey Rublev in the fourth round of the US Open despite starting out as a 7/10 favourite. More vitally, he failed to take a set off his opponent in it.

And returning to action in the Davis Cup, a lot was expected off Norrie but the Brit won just one singles match from the three he played, going down to Botic van de Zandschulp and Alexander Bublik.

More recently, Norrie was involved in Laver Cup action, featuring in a singles match against Taylor Fritz which he lost in a tight three-setter.

He would like to turn things around here at Seoul as he takes to court after a first round bye.

Uchida Races to Easy Opening Win

Ranked 163rd in the world, Uchida had earned himself a wildcard into the first round of the competition and as luck would have it, was drawn to face another wildcard entrant.

Seong Chang Hong has never been ranked better than 343rd in the world and that gulf in the ranking showed up as Uchida romped through to a 6-4, 6-2 win in an hour and 24 minutes.

Uchida faced three break-points in the entire match but saved each one of them while breaking his opponent’s serve thrice – once in the first and two times in the second set to cruise through.

This was Uchida’s first main draw win on the ATP circuit for the season. Can he double the count with a shock victory here?

Norrie v Uchida Prediction and Tip

Norrie is 1/10 to scoop this and unless he is suffering from an injury or gets too complacent, he should win it in straight sets.

Tip: Norrie to win in straight sets: 3/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
