Shujai Zhang v Ajla Tomljanovic Head to Head
The pair have played each other six times before, and the current head to head record is three wins apiece. It is equally split per surface with each having won two matches on clay and one on hard courts.
Their last meeting was two years ago in Strasbourg, Zhang winning in three sets.

Zhang remains the Chinese number one, although she will be more than aware that there are a number of younger players coming up behind her. However, she has enjoyed one of her best years on tour in 2022.
She has made two finals this year, winning in Lyon in May, and finishing runner-up on the grass of Birmingham. A few weeks after that, she ended up on the losing side in the doubles at Wimbledon, with partner Elise Mertens.
More recently she enjoyed a good North American hard court season, reaching the semi-finals in Cincinnati and the last eight in Cleveland. And that culminated in her reaching the fourth round of the US Open for the first time in her career.
Another semi-final followed in Tokyo, but she was beaten in the second round in Tallinn last week by the Croat Donna Vekic.

Tomljanovic Excelling in Grand Slams
Tomljanovic inherited the mantle of Australian number one after Ashleigh Barty after the former world number one retired earlier this year, and that seems to have inspired her to have her best year on tour of her career.
She reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon, losing to the eventual winner, Elena Rybakina, and the last eight at the US Open, whilst sandwiched between the two, was another quarter-final appearance in Cincinnati.
However, successive first round defeats in Portoroz and Tallinn followed.
The Australian may feel hard done by that she had to qualify for this event, given that her ranking would have been higher had points been awarded for her Wimbledon exploits.
But she shrugged that off by beating Alexandra Ignatik of Romania and Georgina Garcia-Perez of Spain, both in straight sets, to set up the meeting with Zhang.
Zhang v Tomljanovic Prediction and Tip
There is almost nothing to separate these two on paper, so it may come down to who plays better on the day. Zhang may start the slightest of favourites because of her higher ranking, but the result could go either way.
