Karolina Pliskova v Alycia Parks Head to Head

2022 hasn’t been a good year for the former world number one Karolina Pliskova. A hand injury kept her out of action for the first couple of months, after which she has since spent her time building her form.
In most tournaments, Pliskova was often beaten in the early rounds – often by lower-ranked players.
It wasn’t until the US Open swing that we saw Karolina in her clinical self as she reached the semifinal in the Rogers Cup and the quarters at the Flushing Meadows. In these events, the Czech beat several big names like Maria Sakkari, Barbora Krejcikova, Belinda Bencic, and Victoria Azarenka.
Now ranking World No. 19, Pliskova improved her tally to 20-16 but is still on in the best of form. Her last stint was in Tokyo where she succumbed to Petra Martic in round two in straight sets.

Parks Clears the Qualifiers
21-year-old American Alycia Parks has a wonderful chance to make an impact on the WTA Tour. She started as a qualifier in Ostrava and beat the likes of Oksana Selekhmeteva and Anna-Lena Friedsam in straight sets over the weekend.
She is currently #133 and is set to compete in her first WTA main-draw match since the Berlin Open, where she reached round two after beating Qinwen Zheng en route.
Most of Parks’ season has gone by in these early losses. Credit where it is due, she did reach a couple of ITF finals earlier in the season in the US.
Alycia last played in Parma, where she lost to Anna Karolina Schmiedlova in the qualifiers.
Pliskova v Parks Prediction and Tip
Pliskova is the clear favourite here; however, Parks has a precedent to follow but she will need to bring her best foot forward. For now, the home favourite has the clear advantage in Ostrava.
