Victoria Azarenka v Jessica Pegula Head to Head

Her journey to the final four in Guadalajara saw her move past Elina Avanesyan in the opener, followed by the big guns like Paula Badosa and Madison Keys.
Against Badosa, Azarenka benefited from her opponent’s retirement in the second set, while with Keys, she took the match 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-1.
In the quarters, she subdued the American teenager Coco Gauff, 7-6(2), 4-6, 6-3, in what proved to be a rather humbling lesson for the youngster. Vika held her own against the resilient Gauff and aced the test of physical dexterity and endurance.
With these wins, Victoria’s year-to-date record has improved to 24-12. Her other best results include quarterfinal showings in the Citi Open and Adelaide International and fourth-round results in the US Open and Australian Open.
Her last singles semifinal was in the Indian Wells Open 2021, where she was the runner-up.

Business as Usual for Pegula
Jessica Pegula reached the semis here after moving past Sloane Stephens 6-2, 6-2 in the quarters.
Over the last couple of matches, the 28-year-old American has delivered a stunning turnaround after starting the tournament on a wobbly note. In the opener, she battled the current Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina for three sets – while saving three match points – to reach round three.
Post that, Pegula beat Bianca Andreescu in straight sets to stay alive in the competition.
Fans have come to expect this kind of consistency from Jessica, who reached the semis in San Diego as well. Before that, she competed in the concluding rounds in Toronto, Cincinnati, and New York.
