Auger-Aliassime has won both their previous meetings and has not dropped a set in either of the two matches.

Auger-Aliassime Wins Epic

Felix Auger-Aliassime produced an incredible turnaround to edge past Mikael Ymer in a three-hour-and-30-minute second round contest and extend his unbeaten streak to 14 matches.

The Canadian, who lost the first set in the tiebreak, was 1-4 down in the second and saved two break points in the sixth game to avoid falling 1-5 behind, before pulling off a stunning comeback to win the contest 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 7-6 (8-6).

Auger-Aliassime struck 11 aces and 45 winners in the match and converted 36 of 59 net points to knock out the Swedish qualifier.

The Canadian, who won three consecutive titles in Florence, Antwerp and Basel, is looking to reach a fifth consecutive ATP 1000 quarterfinal and a first in Paris.

The 22-year-old is now 55-25 for the season and the brilliant season has seen him win four titles from five finals. He had never won a title in the eight finals prior to the season, but he finally picked his maiden title in Rotterdam this year.

He will be completely drained after the mentally taxing second-round win on Wednesday, but given how he has been playing right now, he seems unstoppable at the moment.

Simon Stuns Ninth Seed Fritz

2012 semifinalist Gilles Simon had a quiet season so far, but the 37-year-old is finishing the year in style. The Frenchman, who had won consecutive matches only once at the French Open this year, has produced two thrilling three-set wins at the Paris Masters to reach the third round.

Simon came back from a set down to beat Andy Murray in the first round on Tuesday and then ousted the ninth seed Taylor Fritz in another three-setter on Wednesday.

While the wild card needed two hours and 51 minutes to oust the Scot in the opener, he needed three hours and seven minutes to send the American packing on Wednesday.

A 14-time tour-level champion, Simon converted 4 of 11 break points and saved 6 of 9 to beat the world no. 11. After both players had won a set each it was the World no. 188 who got the solitary break in the final set to keep his hopes alive.

The 37-year-old now faces the man in unbelievable form, can he cause another upset in the tournament and reach the last eight?

Auger-Aliassime v Simon Prediction and Tip

Both players may feel the effects of their three-hour-plus matches on Wednesday. However, Auger-Aliassime holds the edge. He is enjoying his purple patch and is expected to extend his streak.
