Stan Wawrinka v Alexander Bublik Head to Head

Even the struggling Alexander Zverev got the better of Wawrinka in the Davis Cup before the former world number three and Grand Slam winner registered his second win of the season by edging out Daniel Altmaier.

Frustrated Bublik Hoping to Preserve Racquets
Well, so we hope anyway. Because it’s been the kind of start to the season that Bublik’s frustrations have been boiling over consistently in recent times.
Which is why, on his way to losing his seventh successive match of the season, Bublik smashed three of his racquets into oblivion. His opponent in that match, the first round at the Montpellier Open, Gregoire Barrere calmly worked his way through to a three-set victory.
Before that loss, Bublik had gone down in two singles matches at the United Cup – including one against Wawrinka himself – lost to David Goffin at the Auckland Open, fallen to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina at the Australian Open and then lost both his Davis Cup matches.
At some point, Bublik will hope he can turn things around, but more so now that he is playing someone who is ranked so low he will feel this is his best chance.
