Aleksandar Vukic v Christopher Eubanks Head to Head

There have been two previous meetings on the Challenger circuit and those were shared by both these players.

More recently, in this very tournament, these two met in the qualifiers and Eubanks had won in three sets to make the main draw.

Vukic in Need of Main Draw Wins

While Vukic has played his part on the Challenger circuit, his overall record at the highest level reads a lowly 8-12 spread across a decade of competitive tennis.

The last time he won a main draw match on the ATP Tour was in September last year when he reached the quarterfinal of the Sofia Open. Since then, the only main draw match Vukic’s featured in was at the Australian Open earlier this year.

Making the opener on the back of three qualifying wins at the season’s first major, Vukic was edged out in five sets by Brandon Holt.

At the Dallas Open that followed, Vukic bowed out in the qualifiers itself and that would have been the same in Delray Beach as well had it not been for the withdrawal of John Isner.

Isner who played in the final of the Dallas Open on Sunday, opted out of this competition and that gave Vukic a lucky loser status. He will now face the opponent who had purportedly knocked him out of the tournament in the qualifiers.

Eubanks Making a Steady Climb

Eubanks is one of those players who has been steadily growing in his performances over the years and as a result of that, has been improving his ATP Ranking too. He had finished the 2021 season ranked 160th, improved to 123rd at the end of 2022 before climbing up to his current 102nd in the world.

Qualifying for this tournament means he could break into the top 100 of the rankings for the first time next week. A win here would more or less confirm that and allow him a chance to make the main draw of Grand Slams without having to go through the qualifiers.

This year, Eubanks has already notched up main draw wins too.

He shocked Ugo Humbert at the Auckland Open and then overcame the favourite Soon-woo Kwon at the Australian Open. An opening loss to Oscar Otte at the Dallas Open was a bit of a surprise but Eubanks will come into this with the confidence of having gone past Vukic in the qualifiers.

Vukic v Eubanks Prediction and Tip

Expect Eubanks to make it two in two against Vukic and this time around it could happen quicker than the previous match.
