Wang Xiyu has yet to record a win this year as she was unsuccessful in all three of her previous attempts. The Chinese player is a very aggressive player who loves to play matches on her own terms and that makes her a very tough one to call.
At times she will be really strong defeat opponents who are better ranked but sometimes she will produce an effort with a lot of errors and lose to lesser-ranked players. It’s really tricky to predict but she seems to have found more luck on clay recently.
SHe’s a good hard-court player because she’s aggressive and there will always be wins but somehow her style fits better on clay. That can work in Mexico on the slower hard courts but she faces a very stable player who rarely gives something away.
It will be tough to win but she can do it if she plays close to her best.

Riske’s Slow Start
Similar to her opponent, Riske too has struggled this year. She has won only won match in five attempts and that’s not good for a player who showed a pretty decent level last year.
Australia was a failure altogether because hr only win came against Alana Parnaby who is not a player that has the level needed for regular WTA play. Even that performance wasn’t entirely too convincing.
She did look better overall at the Australian Open taking a set from Marketa Vondrousova and that might have been a single of better days to come. We’ll see here because this is a good matchup. She can counter Wang pretty well and she has the style needed to win this match.
Their H2H prove that but it can be close like their match last year at the US Open. I’d still back Riske to win this although I’m not entirely sold on it.
Wang v Riske Prediction and Tip
I’ll back Riske here simply because she kind of played a bit better than her opponent in my opinion. Realistically the match could go either side but I’ll back Riske to win it.
