Our 2023 WTA Monterrey Open Predictions & Picks

With Indian Wells just around the corner, some of the WTA’s biggest hitters will be looking to pick up a few wins under their belt and head to California high on confidence.

Caroline Garcia hasn’t won in Mexico before, although she clinched the WTA Finals title some 700 miles away in Fort Worth, Texas last season. The Frenchwoman will be the player to beat during the week, after a subpar Middle East Swing. Garcia has already lost one final, so if she gets to the championship she will aim to amend her record.

Donna Vekic is destined for a big season. She is not far off from her peak ranking of No. 19. The Croatian star has reached the quarterfinals in each of her last two tournaments and was one of the best performers at the Australian Open last month. She is the third seed in Monterrey and perhaps the second-biggest favorite after Garcia.

One unseeded player who could cause havoc is Colombia’s Camila Osorio who was unfortunate not to beat Magda Linette in Merida.
