Otte Searching for Consistency

Oscar Otte is off to a poor start, winning jjust two of his eight matches so far in 2022.

The German, who won one and lost one at the United Cup, lost his first qualifying round match in Adelaide-2, went down to Juncheng Shang in the opening round of the Australian Open and then suffered a Davic Cup loss against Marc-Andrea Huesler.

Otte ended a four match losing streak with a first round win over Christopher Eubanks in Dallas, but he lost in the second round to Marcos Giron and then was dumped out of the opening round of Delray Beach by Yoshihito Nishioka.

The 29-year-old right-hander had a decent run by his standards in 2022. He finished with a 19-26 record on the tour last year, but that included an ATP 500 and two ATP 250 semifinals. He had also peaked to a career-high of no. 36 in june, before sliding down once again.
