Teichmann opened the year solidly in Australia but since then her form dropped considerably and she arrives in Indian Wells with a 2-match losing streak. The stay in the Persian Gulf was not fruitful for her with two losses and they were bad losses.
Both Lauren Davis and Elena Ruse are players that Teichmann can and should beat, especially on hard courts. Her score so far is fair (7-6) thanks to a solid start in Australia but since then it’s been poor. Time will tell how well she plays here but she did really well in North America in the past.
Last year was a 1st round exit but she’s a streaky player. When she’s playing really well she can go far but you never know until she plays a match that week. Having a really strong forehand makes her a dangerous player in these conditions, it just comes down to whether she will hit it well.
It’s been a bit shaky this year so far.

Krueger Superbly Qualifies
Krueger is proving herself more than just a talent as the 18-year played two very strong matches in the qualifiers to make the main draw. It doesn’t come as a surprise as she knows the courts well and has played on them before. It matters a lot in tennis and it was evident in the qualifiers.
She’ll try to keep it up and possibly win a few matches in the main draw as well. The year has been really good so far with 14 wins and only six losses so she can certainly play well. Earning as many points as possible is the goal in order to give herself a good chance for the rest of the year.
As an American, Kruger’s games is mostly built around the groundstrokes and the serve which is a combination that works really well in Indian Wells. Krueger qualified here last year too but failed to win a match in the main draw.
I think this year might finally be the one where she gets it done.

I think there is a solid value in backing Krueger here. Beating Teichmann will take a good effort but it’s not like she’s playing that well.
