Tatjana Maria v Lucia Bronzetti Head to Head
They have met once before and that was in Monterrey earlier this year, which ended with Maria beating the Italian 6-1, 6-0.

World no. 64 Tatjana Maria overcame qualifier Tatiana Prozorova in a three-set marathon on Tuesday to advance to the second round of the tournament.
The two hour and 42 minute first round contest saw Maria convert 9 of 14 break points and save 3 of 8. She edged out Prozorova in the first and then lost the second set in the tiebreak. But she picked up her level in the final set to script a 7-5, 6-7 (5-7), 6-0 victory.
The 35-year-old German will now be looking to reach a second quarterfinal in Rabat, having reached that far in 2017.
She has been in good form on clay this year, having defending her Bogota Open title last month. Overall she is 13-5 across levels on clay this year and will be hoping to tighten her game in the next round after being stretched by the world no. 287 in the first.

Bronzetti Overcomes Peterson
Lucia Bronzetti won her first round match against Rebecca Peterson in straight sets. However it wasn’t a straight forward victory and the Italian needed two hours and nine minutes to move into the second round.
The world no. 102 Bronzetti saw the Swede come back from a break down twice in the first set, but the Italian got a decisive third break late in the set to take a 1-0 lead.
The second set was a roller coaster as well. Peterson raced to a 4-1 lead thanks to a double break, but Bronzetti pulled both the breaks back. They exchanged breaks once again late in the set and then Bronzetti missed out on three match points in the 12th game as the determined world no. 86 refused to give up.
The cat and mouse game continued in the tiebreak, but eventually it was Bronzetti who converted her sixth match point of the set and third of the tiebreak to win 6-4, 7-6 (9-7).
Bronzetti was a semifinalist on her Rabat debut last year. She will be hoping to make it to the last eight once again. She was also a semifinalist at the Forence Challenger last week and so is slowly finding her form on clay after a forgettable start, which saw her do very little on the tour but reach one ITF final on indoor court.

Maria may have trounced Bronzetti on hard courts this year but on clay, the Italian will be a tough player to beat. Expect a close three-set contest between the two with Maria edging past the Italian.
