Trevisan Asked Tough Questions by Qualifier

Trevisan had enjoyed a stroke of good fortune in her first round match with the Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz. She had just taken the first set when the Spaniard felt an injury and decided that she could not continue.

And she might have felt that her next opponent, the Croatian qualifier, Jana Fett, the world number 266, would not provide a serious obstacle to her progress.

In the event the Italian was forced to work harder than she might have expected for victory.

Indeed, having saved four break points in her opening service game, Fett surprised the top seed with the opening break of the match.

It took several games for Trevisan to get back on level terms, and, even then, she was forced to save a set point, before finally gaining control with a second break that enabled her to serve out for the set.

The second set had similarities to the first in that Trevisan was forced to come from a break down, but this time she took the lead straight away and had two match points on the Fett serve.

Not only did the Croatian save them, but she came up with a break of her own next game.

That meant Trevisan was forced to do it all over again by forcing another break, and, this time, she was able to make it count.

Grabher Overcomes Turkish Opponent

Grabher had played herself into some form by reaching the third round in Rome, and she has been hoping to continue that in Morocco this week.

Her first round match against the world number 81, Ysaline Bonaventure did not go entirely to plan – she was forced to come from a set down against the Belgian.

Initially, though, her second round opponent, Cagla Buyukakcay of Turkey proved more to her liking, as she took the first set off a player ranked 263rd in the world for the loss of just one game.

The second set was much more closely contested, as Grabher went first a break down, and them led by a break before Buyukakcay levelled once more.

The Turk even held two set points, could not convert them, and the set was eventually decided on a tie-break.

Eventually Grabher was able to advance after successfully making her second match point count.

Trevisan v Grabher Prediction and Tip

Trevisan made hard work of beating her qualifier in the second round, but she is the top seed in Rabat for a reason, and this is an ideal opportunity to demonstrate why.

Tips:

  • Low Risk Tip: Trevisan to win: 6/17
  • Moderate Risk Tip: Under 20.5 games in the match: 10/11
