Giron, who was beaten by Nicolas Jarry in the third round at Roland Garros, also has a lot more experience than Lehecka on grass. The 29-year-old American has a 6-7 tour level record on grass and an overall career record of 13-10 on the surface.

Giron made his Stuttgart debut last year, but went down in the opening round. He has however, featured in two grass court quarterfinals. The first of those came in Halle in 2021, while his other last eight finish came in Mallorca last year.

As far his recent form is concerned, Giron is coming off a 7-6 record on clay.

Overall, the world no. 75 is 15-14 this year and has featured in four quarterfinals.
