Nick Kyrgios is returning to action in Stuttgart next week, after being sidelined with a knee injury over the past seven months.
The Australian, who last played a singles match in Tokyo in October, will be competing for the first time this season. He recently underwent a knee surgery and seems all set to return to action.
The 28-year-old Kyrgios is a fantastic grass court player. He had a 12-3 record on the surface in 2022 and that included his first major final in Wimbledon, which he eventually lost in four sets to Novak Djokovic. That was Kyrgios’ only appearance in a grass court final.
Overall, the Aussie has won 7 titles from 11 finals, with his last title coming in Washington last year.
In Stuttgart, Kyrgios has a 5-3 record. He was a semifinalist in 2018 and made it to the final four once again last year.

Yibing Wu will making his debut on grass in Stuttgart. The 23-year-old Chinese has never played a grass court tournament at any level.
Wu, who lost the first round of his French Open debut to Roberto Bautista Agut, made an impact earlier this year, winning his first ATP title in Dallas after reaching his maiden final in the tournament.
Wu defeated John Isner in the final in Dallas, which followed a runner-up finish in the Cleveland Challenger, also on hard court.
Ranked number 54 in the world, Wu is 10-8 at the tour level and 16-10 overall.
He is coming of a 3-5 run on clay. Can he recapture his early season form on grass?

It’s an interesting matchup. Kyrgios is a top class grass court player but will be playing his first match in seven months. Wu on the other hand has enjoyed some success this year, but will be playing on grass for the first time.
