Stefanos Tsitsipas v Richard Gasquet Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two with both winning one. They had faced off once on grass, way back in 2018 in Rosmalen, and Gasquet had won that.
More recently in Miami this year, Tsitsipas had gotten a walkover from Gasquet.

Having reached the quarterfinal of the French Open before crashing out in straight sets to Carlos Alcaraz, Tsitsipas hasn’t taken too much time to get himself going on grass.
And that might not be too surprising given the last time Tsitsipas won an ATP title, it had come on this surface.
It was in 2022 that Tsitsipas clinched the Mallorca Open following which he made the third round at Wimbledon. Nick Kyrgios got the better of him at that stage.
What’s interesting to see is Tsitsipas lost three matches on grass last season – at the Stuttgart Open, Halle Open and Wimbledon – and they came at the hands of Kyrgios (twice) and Andy Murray.
It gives one the sense that while it’s difficult to overcome Tsitsipas on grass for a player who isn’t attuned to this surface, he also doesn’t have full control on it especially against those who know their way around grass.

Gasquet Stalls Eubanks’ Progress
It took Gasquet an hour and 41 minutes but he managed to overcome Christopher Eubanks in the first round here in Stuttgart in straight sets.
The 2008 Stuttgart Open finalist, Gasquet, clinched a 7-6 (2), 6-4 win over the qualifier Eubanks to seal his first win on grass since having reached the third round at Wimbledon last year.
Having dipped to 55th in the world, Gasquet did not face a single break-point in the first set before winning the ensuing tie-breaker. In the second, he was broken in the very first game before coming back to level it out at 1-1.
Following that both players held on to their serves, with neither facing a break-point till Eubanks served to stay in the match at 4-5. He saved one match-point there, before Gasquet converted his second opportunity to march forward.
Things will get a lot more difficult in the second round though.
Tsitsipas v Gasquet Prediction and Tip
Tsitsipas should not have a lot of difficulties getting past Gasquet here with a straight-set win looming large for the Greek number one.
