Liudmila Samsonova v Polina Kudermetova Head to Head
The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the 24 year old Samsonova, and Kudermetova, four years her junior.

In 2021 Samsonova reached the fourth round at Wimbledon, her best showing in a Grand Slam to date at that time, although she was later to emulate that at the US Open 12 months later.
The ban on Russian players meant that she was unable to compete at the All-England club last year.
Earlier this year she reached her all-time career ranking, after a solid run of results in the WTA 1000 tournaments, and she won the doubles in Dubai, where her partner was Kudermetova’s older sister Veronika,
She made very hard work, though, of her first round opponent, Lena Papadakis of Germany, a qualifier ranked 348 in the world.
It was the German who started the better, breaking her in the opening game of the match before Samsonova steadied herself and claimed the opening set courtesy of two breaks of her own.
Neither won could force a break in the second set, and it was decided by a tie-break which Papadakis won.
Break points came and went in the third set, and it was Papadakis who finally got the breakthrough, earning herself the chance to save for the match.
Her nerve though failed her at the wrong time, Samsonova broke back, and went on to dominate the tie-break to win the match.
She had been given a major scare, though.

Although overshadowed by the achievements of her elder sister, Kudermetova has got a solid record behind her on the ITF tour, where she has appeared in 9 finals and won eight of them, most recently in Kazakhstan in March.
It is still comparatively rare for her to appear in the main draw of a WTA event, but she earned her shot in Rosmalen anyway.
And she justified the faith of the tournament organisers with a comfortable first round victory over Yue Yuan of China, the world number 109.
An early break set her on her way in the first set, and she consolidated her lead with another. Yuan recovered one of them, but could not claw back the other.
The Chinese woman threatened a comeback when she broke early in the second set, only to be broken twice in succession herself.
Kudermetova wrapped things up with yet another break.
Samsonova v Kudermetova Prediction and Tip
Based on comparative world ranking, seeding and known form, Samsonova should win. However, the number two seed will need to raise her game after her first round performance if she does not want to suffer a shock defeat.
