Noskova To Make Her Grass Debut

Eighteen-year-old Linda Noskova will be playing her first match on grass at the Birmingham Open.

The world no. 50 had started off the season in style and has been a consistent performer, but hasn’t been able match her performances in Adelaide and Lyon.

In Adelaide, Noskova had beaten two top 10 players in Daria Kasatkina and Ons Jabeur en route her maiden WTA final. She couldn’t win the title though as she went down to Aryna Sabalenka in the final. Noskova then made it to the quarterfinals in Lyon and also the third round in Indian Wells. But she hasn’t been able to reach another tour-level quarterfinal this year.

However, Noskova has had two quarterfinal finishes at the WTA 125 level.

She has an uphill challenge in Birmingham and will have to punch above her weight to win her opener.
