There have been two previous meetings between these two players and both matches were won by Cornet. Both came in 2019 and on clay.

On the one hand, Cornet had a rollicking time in the first grass court competition of the season when she reached the semifinal in Nottingham.
Not only did she get that far for the first time this season, Cornet also stunned Maria Sakkari in doing so.
On the other hand, Cornet’s stay in the second tournament she played on grass was a short one. Featuring in Berlin last week, Cornet was drawn to play Sakkari yet again and this time it came in the first round. She was sent packing in straight sets by the Greek number one.
It meant that one is back to the square one with Cornet whose season has been anything but dazzling. The 2022 semifinalist in this tournament has a 10-15 win-loss record for the year and with Cornet showing consistency in only going on successive defeats this season, it will be interesting to see how she goes against a player who reserves her best for clay.

Trevisan in Her First Grass Tournament for the Season
Trevisan hasn’t played in any grass court competitions for the year and the reason for that is two-fold probably.
One, her record on grass is abysmal. Two, she is probably reserving her energies for some of the other tournaments where she has a better chance of competing.
This can be seen from her overall record on grass. Of the nine matches that Trevisan has played across all circuits and stages of tournaments, she has just one win in it and that came in the 2018 Wimbledon qualifiers. Trevisan has lost the other eight.
And while she now faces an out of form Cornet, there are two further issues facing her.
For starters she hasn’t done well against the Frenchwoman in the past but secondly even those losses came on her most favourite surface – clay. Can she cause an upset here?
