They played five times so far and Svitolina is leading 3-2. They didn’t play since 2019 though so keep that in mind.

Svitolina Continues Winning Form on Return

Elina Svitolina found her form leading up to Roland Garros and it’s been carrying on since then. The return to grass wasn’t that spectacular overall as she lost her only prep match before Wimbledon.

The Grand Slam itself has been going smoothly so far as Svitolina was able to produce two solid matches beating Venus Williams in two sets and Elise Mertens in three sets. Svitolina was never a great player but she’s certainly capable of winning.

This upcoming matchup has been a favourable one for her but she’s to face the best Sofia Kenin can produce on the court. The American isn’t playing at her best right now but she’s actually the most confident she’s been in years which makes her dangerous.

Svitolina is very good at counter-punching so she will have a chance but she’ll need to have her serve to keep Kenin away from too many chances.

Kenin Finding Form at Wimbledon

Sofia Kenin has dealt with a lot of injuries in the past two years but has finally started to perform on a really solid level. The American had a fair season so far but nothing special really wither her overall record before Wimbledon being 12-14.

She won three matches in the qualifiers which gave her confidence and then she produced an excellent level to stun Coco Gauff in the opening round. She then added another solid win to her name by overcoming Xinyu Wang in straight sets and is now hoping to book a spot in the fourth round.

Kenin won all of these matches thanks to her ball striking which can be one of the best on Tour she’s playing the way she does now. A lot of that has to do with her being very confident in her game but Svitolina has a good counter to that.

Kenin will need to be very careful because if she starts missing she’s going to be in a lot of trouble against Svitolina.

Svitolina v Kenin Prediction and Tip

I like how Kenin is playing right now and I think that on grass being the better shot-maker matters.

  • Moderate Risk Tip: Kenin to win the match: 5/6
