Miomir Kecmanovic v Dusan Lajovic Head to Head

Their only previous meeting came at the Banja-Luka Open earlier this year and Lajovic won that semifinal in three hard-fought sets.

Kecmanovic Returns to Clay with Gstaad Semifinal

After a grass swing in which Kecmanovic featured in four tournaments and won just a couple of matches, he would be happy to return to clay.

And that showed in his performance at Gstaad where he reached the semifinal with wins over Dominic Stricker and Zizou Bergs following a first round bye. It was the experienced Albert Ramos-Vinolas who took him out before the title-decider.

Overall though, Kecmanovic hasn’t had the best of seasons. And that includes his performances on clay.

Sure he had made the final of the Estoril Open earlier this year but with an overall record of 9-8 on this surface for the season, it does look like the Serb would like to do a lot better in the rest of the few clay-court tournaments left for the year.

Lajovic on a Six-Match Losing Streak

It had started off as a good season for Lajovic with the Serb winning the Banja-Luka Open after having usurped Kecmanovic in the semifinals and Andrey Rublev in the final. Earlier in the season, he had made it to the quarterfinal in Buenos Aires, Rio and Santiago as well which were all indicators of Lajovic bringing with him some excellent clay court form,

In more recent times, however, Lajovic looks to have been stalled in his tracks.

In fact in the previous six matches Lajovic has won just two sets, losing all six matches in the process. This includes five defeats on clay including one last week in Bastad.

Playing the unheralded and the 139th-ranked Filip Misolic from Austria, Lajovic fell to a straight-set, albeit fighting defeat at his hands.

He would be desperate to turn things around here.

Kecmanovic v Lajovic Prediction and Tip

Kecmanovic is coming off some wins under his belt last week while Lajovic has had a huge struggle. That difference in momentum should make things easier for the former.

Tips:

  • Low Risk Tip: Kecmanovic to win: 4/6
  • Moderate Risk Tip: Over 21.5 games in the match: 5/6
