Returning to competitive tennis after having been sent packing from the second round at Wimbledon, de Minaur did not spend a lot on time on court in getting past fellow Aussie Thanasi Kokkinakis.
De Minaur needed an hour and 36 minutes to get past Kokkinakis as he went on to win 6-3, 6-4 to reach the quarterfinals.
Following a first round bye, de Minaur did not show too much rustiness and a break of serve in the fourth game of the encounter helped him clinch the opening set. He faced no break-points in the entire set.
In the second, however, de Minaur did fall 0-3 behind before clawing back to level things out with a break of serve. At 4-4, he broke Kokkinakis for the second time in the set before serving out for the win.

Humbert Overcomes Odds, Harris
Lloyd Harris might have fallen by the wayside as far as his rankings are concerned because of an injury layoff but he did go into his second round match against Humbert as a 7/10 favourite to win it.
As it turned out, Humbert not only overturned the odds but he also won the encounter in straight sets to make it to the last eight.
Having come back from a set down to win his opener against Constant Lestienne in a hard-fought encounter, Humbert then squandered away three set-points in the opening set. He got a fourth chance which he converted before a solitary break of serve in the second helped him come through 7-6 (6), 6-4 to enter the last eight.
Humbert will now hope to make it his second successive semifinal, having done that last week in Newport too.
Here, unlike in Newport, he will need to overcome a top-20 player to get to the last four.
