Diallo Hopeful of Some More Wins

Gabriel Diallo is a very interesting tennis player who has been having a super solid year so far. He’s not too far from the Top 100 and a strong finish to the year could see him certainly make a push to get himself there.

The overall record has been 24-17 and he’ll play one more event on grass before making a return to hard courts where he plays his best tennis. He’s a very tall player so the serve is one of his major weapons. He doesn’t really go to the next too often but he can pull out a lot of shots on grass despite the lower bounce.

He’s actually pretty solid from the baseline and can outhit some decent players. He’ll need all of that against Anderson who in ways is very similar to him.

He’s going to be favoured against a player who hasn’t played in a very long time but that could be dangerous because nobody knows what to expect. It could be a great return and perhaps it could be a bad one. It’s really tough to say.

Anderson Unretires After 1 Year

Kevin Anderson retired from tennis last year after struggling to keep his body healthy for a very long time. The South African was a very strong player at his peak, utterly dominant on his serve with plenty of skills to win points if the rally developed.

He’s been struggling with his health for a while and simply couldn’t play anymore when he retired. Fast forward a year in the future and the South African stunned many by announcing that he’s coming back after feeling much better.

He admitted to playing some tennis on the side and being confident in what he saw which is why he’s going to try and comeback. The first ever is one he won in the past as he played his best tennis on the grass.

The serve will always going to be dangerous and if he backs it up with some solid play when a rally develops then he could actually win.

Diallo v Anderson Prediction and Tip

While Diallo is favoured to win it’s very tough to count out Anderson. Grass is his surface and I can certainly see him keep it close. The over doesn’t sound too bad.

Tips:

  • Moderate Risk Tip: Over 20.5 games in the match: 5/6
